Expats were asked to complete a survey to find the best cities to live and work abroad
They rated 25 different elements of living abroad measuring the quality of life, work-life satisfaction, getting settled, local cost of living, and financial security and housing. Over 20,000 expat employees across 187 countries chose the top 82 cities where people were most happy with their arrangement of working-abroad.

The number one city to work as an expat is Miami, Florida. Those that feel at home in the city and find it easy to get used to the local culture is close to 75 percent. Houston, Texas, ranked number two, also had 75 percent say they find it easy to get used to the local culture.
Eighty-one percent of expats working in Chicago, Illinois, consider the locals generally friendly. Boston, Massachusetts, is ranked fourth on the report. While 62 percent feel at home in the city, 66 percent rate their overall job satisfaction positively. New York City, New York, is ranked fifth. Sixty-one percent rate their overall job satisfaction positively in NYC.
